Abstract
Through numerous dialogues at various governance levels from local to international, there are several leverages push for more inclusion of women in policy and decision making roles.
The UN Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, recommended two strategies: 1st. “Take measures to ensure women's equal access to and full participation in power structures and decision-making” and 2nd “Increase women's capacity to participate in decision-making and leadership”.
Since 1996, the IOC's advocacy activities supported activities revealed the 1st IOC Conference with apparent recommendation to allocate at least %10 of Key positions to women in sport bodies. The set forth quota for dissemination of IOC’s positions on women and sport increased to %20and %30 in 2000 till 2008.
Adoption the millennium goals (MDGs) in 2000; The Declaration zoom women’s centrality in development processes by governments: “to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women as effective ways to stimulate development”.
Transition from MDGs (2015) to SDGs (Jan. 2016), the goals directed to new perspectives from criticized conception. Article 11 of UNESCO Kazan action plan passed by MINEPS VI(2017) as the executive action plan of SDG in sport; deals with the importance of this issue .
Joining formally to UN dialogue as an observer member since 2012, IOC fostered good governance of sport organizations in an integrity action, and made a mainstreaming impact on gender equality in Sport ; by launching 25 gender equality recommendations across five key themes(including GOVERNANCE) in 2018.The key terms of stressed in ecommendations13,21 and22 were: Governance leadership development , Roles and responsibilities and Gender equality leadership.
These all lead the way in bringing parity in gender. But at this stage the question is that:
To shift the paradigm for supporting women to be presented as a representative in sport governing body, what qualities do we need to be impressive?
This passage shall deal with main relative characteristics needed to remove the gaps and pitfall the leadership issues for women in sport as decision/policy- makers.
