The relationship between Social identity and Feeling safe with moral decision making of Football referees in Fars province

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between Social identity, feeling safe and Ethical decision making of Football referees in Fars province. This research is applied in terms of practical purpose, which has been performed by descriptive correlation method and the data collection method was field-based. The statistical population of the present study is all active Football referees in Fars province in 1398 who have a valid refereeing degree and have referred in the leagues of the province at least once, which according to the Football referees’ committee of this province were 205 people. Due to the limited statistical population, the sampling method was performed by the whole number method and the whole statistical population was considered as a statistical sample. Questionnaires were distributed among all judges that 133 questionnaires could be reviewed and analyzed. A modified ethical decision-making questionnaire (Martin, 2007) and a modified social identity questionnaire (Saffarinia and Roshan, 2011) as well as a researcher-made questionnaire on the feeling safe (Researcher made, 2019) were used to collect information. Descriptive statistics (including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and graphs) were used for demographic characteristics and description of research variables. In addition, due to the normality of data distribution, which was determined by Kalmogorov-Smirnov test, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to test the research hypotheses. The whole process of analyzing the data the present study was done from SPSS software. The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between social identity and feeling safe with moral decision making (p <0.05), so it is recommended to the Football Referees Committee of Fars province, considering the creation of appropriate grounds for social identity and Its components; Increase the feeling safe among the judges so that the judges can make appropriate ethical decisions in their work.
