The relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational silence in sport and youth department of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational silence in sport and youth department of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province. The research method of present study was descriptive in type of correlation that data gathering was conducted in field method and this research according to aim is applied research. The statistical population of this study was all of employees of the sport and youth departments of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province (N=100) that due to the low of population, census sampling in this study was used. Research measurement tools were two standard questionnaires include perceived organizational support of Eisenberger et al (1986) and the organizational silence of Harbaliqloo and Goltin (2014), that their validity and reliability in various internal and external research were confirmed and in the present study, using the views of professors and experts, validity were evaluating. Also the reliability was measured by Cronbach’s alpha test and the reliability coefficient for organizational support questionnaire was 0.78 and for organizational silence questionnaire was 0.88. To analyze the data, descriptive statistic (tables, mean, standard deviation and Spearman coloration coefficient) was used. For data analysis SPSS ver. 19 was utilized. The result of the research showed that there was a significant relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational silence. There was also a significant relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational silence dimensions such as distrust against managers, job reasons, lack of experience. However, there was no relationship between perceived organizational support, feared of confusion and fear of social isolation. Thus, officials of the sports and youth departments of Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province in order to decrease the organizational silence in the sports and youth departments can providing adequate support to their employees through participation opportunity in decision making, paying attention and appreciating of staff’s double efforts.
