Comparison of the effects of exercises training and cinnamon extract on the omantin-1 level and the combination of overweight women's bodies

Abstract
. Traditional treatments are now being considered using some plants or vegetable juice throughout the world. Also, the drugs and plant materials can also affect obesity. Cinnamon is one of the oldest medicinal plants that reinforce blood sugar reduction and contribute to treating diabetes. The fatty tissue, like an endocrine, secreted different Adipokines such as omentine-1. The synthesis and secretion of omentine-1 is in adipose stem cells.
Therefore, the present study was carried out with the aim of studying 8 weeks of sport exercises and the supplement of cinnamon to the as omentine-1 and the combination of overweight women's bodies.
Method:
In this study, the effect of 8 weeks exercise training and cinnamon extract consumption on the amount of omantin-1 in overweight and obese women was investigated. The present study was conducted in semi experimental method. The statistical population of this study was 60 female students with overweight from Zahedan Farhangian University. People divided into four groups, group of cinnamon consumption (N=15), exercise training (N=15), exercise training + cinnamon extract (N=15) and control (N=15). To determine biochemical indices including omentin-1 and blood lipid profile samples were collected before and after performing the study, fasting conditions were collected and tested. Supplement group consumed one capsule containing 0.5 g Cinnamon, one hour before breakfast and one hour before dinner for eight weeks. The bondor kit made by East Biopharm Co. was used to measure Omentin-1 through ELISA method. Data was analyzed by SPSS software (version 16) and Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene, dependent-t and ANOVA tests. P<0.05 was considered significant.
Results:
In cinnamon, exercise and cinnamon + cinnamon groups, levels of omentin-1 were significantly increased and weight and BMI were significantly decreased. Waist to hip ratio was not significant in any of the groups. Also, no significant difference was found between the groups in none of the variables.
Conclusion: Resistance training as non-invasive intervention along with cinnamon consumption as well as cinnamon consumption alone increase Omentin-1 serum level (anti-inflammatory agent) and improve the body composition.
