Abstract
Sociologists consider sport to be a social and cultural phenomenon that is inextricably linked to social institutions and structures. Social phenomena can be influenced by risk factors for a variety of reasons and cause problems for society. Sports and sporting events can also be affected by these problems and risks due to their social nature and ultimately create a crisis for the community.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effective components of security management during sporting events that were conducted with a quantitative exploration approach.
The target population included sport management faculty members, physical education teachers, executives, athletic directors, stadium officials, sports experts, Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs General Directorate, Municipal Sports Organization, Security Council, Heads and Experts. Delegates and all former and current organizers of sporting events in the West Azerbaijan province formed various sports. The sample size was 196 persons and due to the small number of the population, the sample size was 196 and thus the sample size was 196 persons. The factors were identified by library and survey method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made demographic questionnaire whose face and content validity was assessed by 7 experts in the field of sport event security management and its reliability was estimated through Cronbach's alpha of 0.73. It was found that indicates appropriate reliability of the questionnaire.
The results showed that two major variables including crisis management and command and control are important indicators in security management during sporting events.
