Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and social capital with the entrepreneurial level of managers of private sports clubs in Shiraz. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the research included private managers of private clubs in Shiraz (N =400), of whom 196 respondents were selected through random sampling based on Morgan and Krejeci table.
In order to measure knowledge management, the Sharon Lawson`s questionnaire (2003) with Cronbach's alpha 0.90 was used. Also, the Gaeeni`s social capital questionnaire (2011) with Cronbach's alpha (0/97) and the Shepherd`s entrepreneurship questionnaire (2003) with Cronbach's alpha (0/87) were conducted in the present study. Validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by several sports management professors and reliability of the questionnaires was confirmed with Cronbach's alpha. Descriptive statistics method and path analysis with partial least squares method were used to analyze the data via SMART-PLS software. Also, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to normalize the data. The results showed that knowledge management and social capital had a positive and significant relationship with the level of entrepreneurship of managers of private sports clubs in Shiraz. The results also showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the knowledge management components and entrepreneurship level of the managers of private sports clubs in Shiraz. Also, there was a positive and significant relationship between social capital components and entrepreneurship, and social capital would explain 4% of the variation in the amount of entrepreneurship in Shiraz clubs with a t-value equal to 8.42. Hence, it is suggested that club managers increase employee satisfaction with emphasis on training staff and creating a sense of integrity, trust and collaboration environment, enhance social capital and improve entrepreneurship, as well as provide a platform for improvement and updating of employee knowledge. By creating a climate of collaboration and participation among employees in the production and transfer of knowledge, they will work to improve entrepreneurship.
