Abstract
Body composition and balance are always one of the main factors of health and quality of life among the people Physical fitness and proper balance are important factors in improving the quality of life and promoting health in today's society. Balance is the most important factor in the ability to perform exercise. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of TRX resistance training and Pilates training on some body composition and balance indices of inactive women.
The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of resistance training with TRX and Pilates on some factors of body composition and balance in inactive young women
In This semi-experimental study, thirty Sedentary women (age = 29/33±3.23 and BMI = 26/03±1.24) participated and randomly divided to TRX group (n = 15) and Pilates group (n = 15). Befor and after eight weeks of training, body composition (weight, BMI and percentage of body fat) and balance in three position (two legs, right leg and left leg) with Biodex stability system evaluated.
It was not observed any difference between groups in body composition (P>0/05); but the weight, BMI and percentage of body fat in traditional group and only percentage of body fat in TRX group significantly decreased (P<0/05). According to between group results, the overall balance of two legs in TRX group was significantly better than Pilates group (P<0/05).
It is consider that to compare with pilates training, resistance training with TRX can be more effective in balance (not in body composition).
