Abstract
balance as the most important factor in physical activity is an important factor for the progress and being excellence in sports activities for blind people. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to comparison of static and dynamic balance between amateur and national goalball and five-a-side football blind athletes.
In the present causal comparative study, 16 goalball athletes and 16 five-a-side football athletes were chosen as purposeful sampling method. In this study static balance was measured using a modified stork test, and the dynamic balance was measured by tandem walking test in both groups. Then the data were analyzed using Independent t-test at a significance level of 0.05 (P <0.05).
The results of the study showed a significant difference in the mean scores of the static balance test and dynamic balance between the two groups of goalball and five a side football (P <0.05). Also result have shown a significant difference in the mean scores of static balance and dynamic (P <0.05) at both levels of national and amateur athlete.
based on less static and dynamic balance of goalball athletes rather than football players, balance training can be used for the goalball athletes. It also considers the use of lower extremities during training and even competition to engage the somatosensory system in addition to the efficiency of the vestibular system continuously at different ages in goalball athletes group. Applying these items during a period of time improves their static and dynamic balance.
