Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to predict the development of income generation of sporting events in Iran based on policy dimensions and governmental support. The research is applied and descriptive in its field method. The statistical population of the study consisted of all faculty members, managers of active sports clubs, heads of sport federations aware of the subject, and executive agents in the current and past Ministry of Sport. The sample of this study consisted of 229 people who were randomly selected by random sampling method. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. The face and content validity of the final questionnaire was confirmed by 10 professors and experts and the reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed by a pilot study on 30 members of Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α = 0.87). Univariate regression with SPSS software version 22 was used for data analysis. The results showed that the policy factor and the state support factor had a significant effect on the monetization of sporting events. Therefore, the government's policies and plans to develop the sports industry in various ways, such as resolving political problems and issues stemming from sanctions and establishing political relations with other countries, and increasing the State Department's cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth to consult with other countries to attend events. Sports as well as macro management support (government, parliament) to host international tournaments as well as invest in the country's sports industry to grow and develop players at grassroots level and to implement long-term and effective investment policies.
